Reference standards such as NEC 2017 440.4, IEC 60364, DIN VDE 0100, and NFPA 70E emphasize the importance of accurate short circuit calculations for compliance.

Utilizing a conventional one-line diagram approach, users can input system information easily and assess fault current along an entire radial system efficiently.

The methodology employed by Fault Current Finder utilizes the internationally recognized per unit (X & R Networks) method to determine available fault current from various sources such as Utility Transformers, Generators, and Inverters. Resistance and reactance factors from conductors, buses, and switches are meticulously calculated throughout the system for precise results. This approach ensures model accuracy by independently calculating resistance and reactance at each device throughout the electrical distribution system.

Furthermore, the app assists in determining NEC (NFPA 70) and OSHA short circuit current ratings (SCCR), Ampere Interrupting Capacity (AIC), and Interrupting Rating (IR) for overcurrent protection devices (OCPD) and associated equipment in systems up to 600V.
